Drem Farm Cottages
A full strip-out and rebuild of a farm cottage in Drem, with a rear extension adding a new bedroom, kitchen and en-suite.

Project overview
A £300k contract delivered over 9 months: the cottage was taken back to bare walls and rebuilt throughout, and extended to the rear to make room for a new bedroom, kitchen and en-suite.
The brief
Renew a traditional farm cottage in Drem from top to bottom and add the space the home was missing — a proper kitchen, a new bedroom and an en-suite — without losing its character.
Our approach
MJM managed the whole build as one team — strip-out, structural works, the rear extension and every finish — keeping the programme coordinated across all trades over the 9-month build.
Construction
The cottage was stripped back to bare walls and rebuilt inside. A rear extension accommodates the new bedroom, kitchen and en-suite, with exposed stonework retained as a feature against the new finishes.
The result
A completely renewed cottage: a light-filled kitchen opening to the garden, a new bedroom with en-suite, and original stonework sitting comfortably alongside crisp contemporary finishes.
